Mr. and Mrs. Allen Clarke of Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Clark of Chicago, motored to the Island recently.  Last week the Clarke Brothers were in Alma, and called on a number of their boyhood friends, who were delighted to see them.  They found many changes.  Some of their “pals” of fifty years ago had passed on, and there was nothing left of the old saw mill, where they had worked with their father, the late Wm.  Clarke, so long ago.
-----------------------------------
The Rev. Stephen and Mrs. Jeffery, Lockeport, N.S., are vacationing in Alma, guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Jeffery.

On Sunday, Mrs. Ralph Rennie returned from the Western Hospital, where she has been receiving treatment for the past two weeks.

The farmers in this vicinity are busy threshing and potato digging.  The Cobblers will likely all be dug by the end of the week.
