Vera (Rennie) MacNeill, Teacher

I just received this nice photo of Vera (Rennie) MacNeill from Donna (Barbour) MacPhee.  Vera was born at Alma corner in 1920 to Fred H. and Sarah Jane (Horne) Rennie - her parents operated the Corner Store.  Vera married Leigh MacNeill and lived on the Dock Road in Elmsdale.
Many people from the Alma-Elmsdale-Alberton area had Vera for a school teacher - she taught for many years.  My father Wilbert Jeffery had her for a teacher at Alma School in the late 1930's and my younger brothers Kerras and Kenny had Vera for a teacher at Elmsdale and Alberton Elementary Schools in the late 1970's.  Kenny always said she was his favourite teacher of all.
Vera's older sister Blanche (Rennie) Crockett was also a school teacher and took over Rennie's Store following her father's death.
Vera passed away on January 14th, 2015 at the age of 94.  See her obituary in a previous post on this blog...
